We use Dabble DB to track the books we order from many sources. With Dabble DB, we keep track of who requested the item, whether they are faculty, staff or student, their email, and what departments the book is relevant for. We also track when we ordered the book, when we received it, and whether or not we notified the requestor that they can now check the book out of the library. We can also record notes when we don’t order a book because it is too expensive or unavailable.
Not only does this application make it really easy to track book requests and book orders, but I use the information to make reports at year end, such as how much we have spent on each subject area or how many books we bought for design teachers. I think Dabble is incredibly versatile and responsive.
The Charles Voorhies Fine Art Library of the Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA) supports the curricular, creative and research needs of the PNCA community. It provides students with the tools needed to become life-long scholars, to use information with integrity and to practice curiosity and determination in all areas of knowledge seeking.
